The Brief

Project Overview

Revenue Showroom is a 56 m² commercial interior located inside Revenue Tower, SCBD, one of Jakarta’s most regulated commercial buildings.

Installation could only occur at night, with strict noise and odor limitations.

Objective

The objective was to validate high-precision interior timber execution under operational constraints by delivering:

• Night-only installation sequencing
• Low-noise machining compatibility
• Curved White Oak VPanel detailing within compact footprint
• Zero correction tolerance in active lobby environment

This project tested execution control rather than scale.

The Constraints

Occupied Commercial Lobby
All works were carried out within a functioning office tower. Daytime installation was not permitted.

Night-Shift Installation Only
Construction was limited to night hours, compressing sequencing and increasing coordination demands.

Odour and Noise Restrictions
Adhesives, cutting, and finishing processes had to comply with strict building management rules.

Curved Geometry Execution
Curved VPanel detailing required millimetre precision. In minimalist interiors, any deviation becomes visible immediately.

The Engineering

White Oak VPanel System

Engineered panels were fabricated to maintain flatness and consistent joint integration within a minimalist interior envelope.

Layered construction reduces movement compared to solid boards, protecting reveal consistency.

Pre-Resolved Curved Joinery

Curved elements were digitally resolved before fabrication. Geometry was fixed in the model, not improvised on site.

This eliminated trial adjustments inside a functioning commercial lobby.

Sequenced Night Installation

Installation was broken into controlled phases to align with restricted night-only access.

Sequencing minimized overlap between cutting, fixing, and finishing operations.

Low-Impact Execution Strategy

Dust, noise, and odor exposure were minimized through pre-cut components and controlled fixing methods.

Operational continuity of the building was preserved.

Tolerance Discipline

Flush junctions and curved transitions were machined to controlled tolerances. In compact spaces, deviation becomes amplified. Precision protected visual calm.

The Results and Insights

Seamless Minimalist Execution Achieved
Curved geometry and linear alignment were maintained without visible correction.

Urban Installation Discipline Strengthened
The project reinforced Woodlam’s ability to operate within high-control commercial environments.

Precision Under Operational Constraint
Working at night increased the importance of preparation. Every detail had to be resolved before arrival on site.

Craft Hidden Behind Calm
The final space appears effortless. The complexity lies in the coordination behind it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Got a question unanswered? Speak to our team.

Why was VPanel selected for this showroom?

VPanel provides dimensional stability and consistent surface finish, allowing precise alignment in compact commercial interiors where every joint is visible.

How was installation managed inside an occupied building?

All works were scheduled at night, with pre-planned sequencing and low-impact fabrication methods to comply with building management regulations.

Why are curves more complex in minimalist interiors?

Curved geometry amplifies tolerance errors. Precision machining and pre-resolved joinery are required to maintain visual continuity.

What does this project demonstrate for Woodlam?

It confirms Woodlam’s capability to deliver high-precision architectural timber systems under strict commercial constraints without compromising finish quality.
